Lip Filler: Pre-Care & What to Expect

You’re booked, we’re so excited to see you.
Here’s everything you need to feel prepared, confident, and taken care of before your appointment

Before Your Appointment (Planning)

Ensure you do not have any major events planned (family photos, speaking events, or big social plans) for 7–14 days after your appointment, as swelling and bruising are normal during this time.

This allows your lips to fully settle so you can enjoy your final results with confidence.

For safety and best results, please also ensure:

  • No vaccines within the past 4 weeks

  • You are not currently sick or fighting any infection

  • No dental work 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after your appointment

If any of the above apply, please reach out so we can help reschedule accordingly

You Made Your Appointment

  • Fill out any paperwork sent to you
(we’ll review everything together during your consult)

  • Let us know in your intake if you have a history of cold sores

If you have any questions before your appointment, we’re here for you

Optional (but helpful):

  • Arnica tablets or topical may help reduce bruising

48 hours before:

  • Avoid alcohol

  • Stay well hydrated

7-10 days before (if medically safe):

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements (Advil, ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo)

Before Your Appointment (Prepping)

We want you to feel comfortable, prepared, and relaxed.

  • Eat beforehand (your lips will be numb after)

  • Arrive with no makeup on the lips

  • Light face makeup is okay

  • Wear comfortable clothing

  • Bring a comfortable, relaxed mindset, this is your time

Day of Your Appointment

After Your Appointment (Immediate)

Right after your treatment, it’s completely normal to experience:

  • Swelling

  • Tenderness

  • Mild bruising

  • Slight asymmetry (temporary)

Swelling is expected and often peaks within the first 24–48 hours.

You’ll still be able to go about your day, but we recommend taking it easy.

This is what your lips will typically look and feel like:

Day 0–1

  • Swelling and firmness

  • Lips may look uneven or larger than expected

Day 2–3

  • Swelling begins to go down

  • Bruising may appear or darken

Day 4–7

  • Lips start softening

  • Shape becomes more balanced

Day 10–14

  • Final results settle

  • Lips feel natural and fully integrated
